LAUNCH 4th JANUARY
Today, the 23rd December, is my eldest granddaughter’s 15th birthday and obviously, as a Stampin Up demonstrator, I had to make her a special card, didn’t I?
As soon as I saw the ‘Beautiful You” stamp set at the Stampin Up On Stage event at Telford, I knew I had to buy it as soon as I could. The stamp set is so versatile as I feel it can be used for so many special occasions -eg congratulations, cheering someone up, encouragement (and especially for a granddaughter’s birthday.)
I thought the dancing lady was the most appropriate as it summed up her personality perfectly.
Here’s the result:
I added the balloon feature as I thought it fitted well with the image and my granddaughter’s attitude to life.
MATERIALS I USED TO MAKE THE CARD:
The card stock I used was SWEET SUGARPLUM and POOL PARTY and WHISPER WHITE. The card base measure 17cm by 17 cm. To the base I added the Pool Party card stock which measured 16cm by 16 cm and then the Sweet Sugarplum card stock which measured 15cm by 15cm. This size is the exact measurement for the FALLING PETALS embossing folder which I used for the background.
I stamped my image onto watercolour paper and using my Sweet Sugarplum and Pool Party ink pads and my aqua painter brush I coloured my image.
After I had done this I decided to redo it and added the ‘swirl’ stamp from the set. I felt this gave it a more ‘dreamy’ effect. I used a heart framelit to cut the shape which I though was appropriate to match the background of falling petal hearts.
I used Pool Party card stock and the SU balloon punch to create the balloon which I then embossed with the Falling Petals embossing folder. I also used Pool Party card stock for the sentiment. The last embellishment effect was adding the string for the balloon (which a glued to the image hand) and a few sequins.
I am very pleased with the outcome and Eve seemed to love it. Looking forward to making many more cards with this lovely set.
