I am previewing one of the items we will be making at my first workshop session at St Mary’s Hospice on the 7th November.

My first session is about making tags and money/card holders in preparation for Christmas.  I made the mitten tag first and then thought it would be a good idea to give my ladies (and maybe gents) the option of turning the tag into a Christmas card.

In order to find a mitten template I went to Google Images and found an appropriate one. I then used REAL RED card stock to cut out two shapes  – the first one being plain and the second I embossed using the CABLE KNIT embossing folder.

Using WHISPER WHITE card stock I cut two small shapes 5.5 cm x 2.5 cm which would be the cuff of the mitten.

I stamped the two holly leaves onto GARDEN GREEN card stock using the stamps from the STITCHED WITH CHEER stamp set.

I then assembled all the pieces adding red ribbon and red jewels.  I stamped the front cuff with another stamp from the STITCHED WITH CHEER stamp set and on the back of the label I stamped the ‘To and From’ using a stamp from the COOKIE CUTTER CHRISTMAS.

I then prepared a card base and card front in WHISPER WHITE card stock so that a decision could be made to have just a tag or a Christmas card. The card base measures 28 cm x 10.5 cm (scored at 14cm)  The card front measures 10 cm x 13.5 cm and was embossed using the SOFTLY FALLING embossing folder.

It will be interesting to see which of the two is the most popular in my workshop.

There are still places left so do come along and make the above (and much more) and have some fun getting ready for  Christmas.
